Rafa Nadal is through to the third round of the 2011 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after posting an impressive 6-0 6-2 straight-set victory early Saturday evening. The World No. 1 took out qualifier Rik De Voest in 60 minutes of play and will play either Ryan Sweeting or Juan Monaco on Monday.

At the same time, Rafa and Lopez are chasing their second ATP World Tour title of the season after triumphing in Doha in the first week. They took out Marin Cilic/Ivo Karlovic on Saturday 6-4 6-4 in the second round. It's very interesting for some to see Nadal play doubles during the most difficult part of the season, but it's not as interesting as knowing that the world No.1 not only won the doubles tournament last year with his friend and 'partner in crime', Marc Lopez, but also, they have a title that the Bryan Brothers don't have.

Nadal expressed his interest in doubles and was pround of his partner Marc Lopez:

"You know, I would love to play more doubles tournaments, but for me it is impossible due to the calendar and everything. It would be too much. But when I do have the chance to play, I play".

"I normally do this at this tournament because it is a very long tournament (2 weeks). I think if the best players in the world played doubles, it would be very good for the crowd, and for us, too, because we play a little bit more relaxed and at the same time, we practice, you know".
